The 'Tin Man', Llanbedrog, North Wales
Probably 1994
Complete with Jean 'Fergie not yet OBE' and Andy Llewellyn(?) (and their children – I don't know their names). The walk was from our camp site on the top of Llanbedrog Head up to the trig point then through the gorse down to Llanbedrog beach via the 'Tin Man' in the photo. Then ice creams from a shop on the road up to the Glyn Y Weddw pub and back up the steep narrow road to the camp site.
The camp site at Bolmynydd was owned by 'Farmer Jones' and his wife. Mr Jones sometimes gave children rides either on his tractor or in a trailer pulled by it. Eventually they retired and sold up. The new owners began organising things and building a shower block etc so the camp site changed. It is not the place it was and is now known not as a camp site but Bolmynydd Camping Park. We don't go there any more, not for any particular reason. Things just move on (Ann and Mick Halpin and their family still go there apparently).
I don't know who took the photo. Perhaps Thomas, who was fifteen by then and doing his own thing. Or perhaps Anthony took it (Emma is there so he would have been).
The trig point at the top of Llanbedrog Head has a very good view of the whole of Cardigan Bay. I am pretty sure I once saw Ireland from there one evening when the atmosphere was unusually clear.
