Throwing stones in the River Glaslyn

Francis has just thrown a stone in the river. Robert is looking for a 'skimmer'. Nick and Thomas at the back, possibly thinking about climbing on the big rock behind Francis.

This particular little pebble beach is a regular stopping place on the path from Beddgelert along the Glaslyn Pass in the direction of Porthmadog (Portmadoc to me, going back) – at least as regular as our annual stays in Beddgelert with the rest of my family (Sandra, our sons' partners, our grandson, my brothers, my sisters, their spouses, my nephews and nieces, their spouses and children, Bernard, and for years, my parents) – in other words, the 'extended' family. Bernard James, a family friend, could be part of our family in Beddgelert. Our dog Tess now comes too.

My parents told me that somewhere along here, when I was very young, I threw my 'potty' in the river and off it went. I like to speculate where I did this exactly. There aren't many places like this where a very young child can sit on a potty and then throw it in.
